Introduction to Security Security System Overview Security Touchscreen Control Application Modules for Integration vNet Producer for Comissioning

The Security System

With the Colorado vNet Security Application, it’s never been easier to come home to a safe and secure home. The same touchscreens used to control lighting, audio, cameras and climate systems, can also serve as virtual security system keypads—providing the convenience of managing the system from any room, but without another keypad on the wall.

Securing the Perimeter

Using the Security Application, all the functions of a standard Honeywell security keypad are integrated into the Colorado vNet Color Touchscreen. Simply press SECURITY from the home screen and a virtual Honeywell keypad appears to arm or disarm one or multiple partitions. For instance, homeowners can separately arm the main house and guest house with just one security system or quickly notify emergency response teams if necessary using easily identified panic buttons.

Need more control? As an integrated part of the Colorado vNet system, you can use any Touchscreen in your home to secure your entire home (arm / disarm), view areas within your home (partitions / zones), monitor the system status, reset and bypass alarms or access emergency services. But that’s only part of the story, you also can use the same Touchscreen to control your lights, set the temperature and humidity, and listen to your favorite songs. Now that’s integrated.

The brain behind the Colorado vNet Security System is the application module. It’s smart and simple, just connect the RS-232 port to the 3rd party security system and connect the Ethernet port to the vNet LAN Ethernet Switch. That’s it! Configure the module using the standard 3rd party templates from within the vNet Producer software.
