Colorado vNet understands that our systems may not be the only ones in the house, and that different systems need to communicate with one other. To simplify system integration, we developed the RS-232 Gateway.

The bi-directional RS-232 Gateway acts as a digital interpreter between a Colorado vNet Lighting & Control system, which communicates using a Controller Area Network (CAN), and 3rd party devices and systems that utilize RS-232 commands.

The RS-232 Gateway allows other systems and control devices (e.g. touch panels) to trigger lighting and home automation scene changes in a Colorado vNet system. Status changes are conveyed in both directions so that all of the system status indicators stay synchronized. Conversely, RS-232 strings and macros can be included in Colorado vNet system scenes to trigger external events, such as raising shade controllers or turning on A/V equipment.

The key to success is good communication. With Colorado vNet and the RS-232 Gateway, success comes pre-integrated.
