Ok, fun aside, nobody wants a home automation system that can only
be controlled at certain pre-defined access points. Which is why
our credit-card sized remote can send control signals to any keypad
within 35 feet – and which is why that keypad can then broadcast
the control signal to any module, anywhere in the house.
That means that as long as you have the living-room remote, you
can close the living-room windows, drop the drapes, and change living-room
lighting scenes from anywhere in the house.
The only downside to the IR Remote, in fact, is that it might add
another few weeks to that diet you’ve been trying…
