Release: 3.0.12
Date: 10/19/2007 12:00:00 AM

Recommended For:

  • New Installations
  • Existing installations that require the new features or resolution of specific issues addressed by this release
Major Enhancements:
  • Includes firmware version A-4-0-20 (see below)
  • Supports Climate Application
  • Supports Security Application
Open Issues:
vNet Producer does not check devices for newer firmware.  vNet Producer checks devices for older firmware and automatically updates system components as needed.  It does not check devices for newer firmware – it is possible to attempt to commission newer hardware with an old vNet Producer version with unpredictable results.  It is always recommended to connect to the internet and check for the latest vNet Producer release before connecting to any hardware.

Windows Vista screensaver causes unexpected behavior in vNet Producer. On a Windows Vista computer, if the screensaver starts while vNet Producer is uploading firmware and/or programming, vNet Producer will exit and uploading will stop. If the screensaver starts while at any other point in the program, vNet Producer will stop responding. In both cases, no data will be lost and restarting the wizard will allow completion of system commissioning. It is recommended that Windows Vista users turn their screensaver off before using vNet Producer.

Firmware Version A-4-0-20

Recommended For:
  • New Installations
  • Existing installations that require the new features or resolution of specific issues addressed by this release
Major Enhancements:
  • Adds Low Latency Audio (reduces audio delay between source and destination to 20 msec or less)
  • Supports Climate Application
  • Supports Security Application
Issues Resolved:
  • Server randomly rebooting
  • iPod audio dropouts
  • Touchscreens failing to display start screen after power outage
Open Issues
  • Large systems which include Climate require an Audio Server (AS1). It is strongly recommended that an audio server be included in systems which utilize the Climate application and include greater than 20 touchscreen amplifiers
  • Climate startup may take up to 5 minutes.  Following power up, sites with a large number of touchscreens (more than 20) will require up to 5 minutes for the Climate Application to initialize. During this time, the Climate Application will not be accessible.
  • iTouch and new iPod Nanos are not supported.  The new iTouch and iPod Nanos with Video are not supported in this release. Software changes made by Apple have resulted in these models being incompatible with all third party docking stations. Apple is working on updates that will allow compatibility for these new models, but they have not provide a timeline for availability.
